The Lightweight AF suite provides a rich ecosystem of tools and libraries required to transform manual tasks into automatic test cases and develop automation for customized use cases. LwAF is not a use case, but a framework to develop customized ones.​

Automated threat detection

LwAF triggers Signaling Firewall challenges, detects threats, and sends alarms to the threat management system. Continuous testing and monitoring accelerates incident response, minimizes security risks, and bridges fragmented tools and data sources.

Automated replication of M2M provisioning

In this use case the PLMN would like to automate the replication of the M2M profile provisioning and ensure the process is working as expected. Continuous testing and monitoring ensure the complex ecosystem always operates as expected, maximizes M2M share, and retains the best connectivity partner. A typical scenario:

Automated anticipated VIP Roaming

To guarantee VIP customers have a seamless roaming experience when traveling abroad, providers can ensure users have access to network services upon landing, thus anticipating VIP roaming complaints and reducing manual work. In a typical use case, LwAF would:
  • Get information about VIP travel
  • Monitor flight arrival
  • Expect successful network attach from the roamer via a passive system
  • If there is no attachment within a period, it verifies/changes the provisioning and triggers the active testing system with GlobalRoamer®

Automation of network troubleshooting tickets

LwAF allows GlobalRoamer® (GR) customers to transform GR alarms into troubleshooting tickets. Upon receiving the alarm, a ticket is created to the internal engineering team and Mobileum. This minimizes manual work and accelerates problem resolution. How:
  • LwAF detects the GR Alarm​
  • Opens an internal ticket to engineering​
  • Updates the ticket with traces and PCAPs
  • Open an external ticket to Mobileum
  • Monitor ticket updates and depending on the case, it closes the external ticket and notifies the roaming partner
