Technical Account Manager - US | < back to Open Positions
Position Overview

Responsible for end-to-end management of all technical aspects of an account through the entire presales phase of an opportunity and into the posts-sales stage including delivery of solution and constant customer satisfaction. Will be responsible for potentially several accounts/projects in parallel, involving solution delivery in the Mobile Value-added Services space for mobile operators in the EMEA region. Must be willing to travel extensively – internationally and locally as required.

Specific Skills/Experience

  • Experience in some or all of the following areas:
    Protocols: SS7 (ISUP, MAP, BSSAP, TCAP, INAP, CAP); SIGTRAN, ISDN; R2; LAPD; GSM Abis; GSM Um Cellular: NSS (MSC/HLR/VLR/AuC/SMSC), BSS(BSC, BTS, Mobile Station), RF, Cell planning/optimization; OSS (OMC)
  • Network: TCP/IP, Frame Relay; VoIP; ATM; GPRS; UMTS
  • Software: Unix (preferably Solaris and/or Linux & HP); Understanding of software systems and architecture (preferably in the context of telecommunications providers)
  • Ability to accept responsibilities as part of a team and work with minimal supervision to achieve defined goals
  • Project Management and Planning skills and experience, including interfacing with internal and external groups and companies to manage different aspects of an overall solutions delivery project
  • Proven customer management skills
  • Experience in writing proposals, responding to RFP/RFI/RFQs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation and white boarding skills (ability to work with the customer to define solutions to their problems)
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of a telecommunication operator - network and IT engineers to C-level executives. This involves regular communication during the project delivery phase using status reports, attending meetings, keeping customer stakeholders updated, etc.
  • Proficient in MS-Office products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, Visio)
  • Willingness to travel overseas (60% to 75% of the time)
  • Remotely manage and communicate with multiple onsite technical teams simultaneously
  • Multi-lingual skills preferred (English + one or more of the following languages French/ German/ Spanish/ Italian/ Portuguese)
  • Ability to be creative and adaptive to customer views and requirements as part of the presales phase
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations, especially during project delivery phase
  • Solution Architecture experience preferred.

Work Experience

7+ years of relevant industry experience, wireless and/or switching telecom networks such as GSM/GPRS/UMTS or CDMA out of which at least 3 years should have been in delivery of telecommunication solutions. Prior Pre-sales / Project Management experience will be a definite plus.

Qualification

Bachelor degree or equivalent in Telecommunications or related field of study (BA/BS or equivalent)
